The Walking Dead Season 3 Liveblog! Episode 11: I ain't a Judas

Hey there!

We're certain that you, just like us, have been sitting on the edge of your seat since the end of last week's episode! It was a real nail biter, no? I mean, seriously... Who is it that's telling somebody else (in very poor grammar) that they're not a judas? Who, really, who? I mean, it could be Daryl, but we know that Reedus is a Judas, right?

i mean, unless the writers are willing to ignore such obvious things.

so we guess it could be Merle, right?
He's not going to betray anyone, right?
And he can't really do no talking not so good, huh?

Meh, just 'cause, here's Daryl again, before Z-Day.

life's easier now, huntin' squirrels.

Anywho, it seems like we're on the verge of a whole lot of messiness going down in these next few episodes, and it's a safe bet it starts picking up here, no? There are only five episodes left after all.

Lots of questions to be answered (as per usual) in Georgia tonight.

Will Rick and the Prison Gang retaliate to the Governor's attack?
How will Andrea cope with the knowledge that her friends are alive, and were attacked?
Is Merle going to be able to adapt to life in prison? (heh, see what I did there?)

this guy clearly never saw any of the Evil Dead films OR Planet Terror
- excellent examples of coping with your new body during the zombpacalypse...
...or wait. maybe he's just confused, 'cause he has all those bad-ass stabby attachments

And seriously! Just who in the world isn't a judas, anyway?

We NEED to know.

The Walking Dead Season 3 Liveblog! Episode 8: Made to Suffer

Welcome back to another ...PrettyMuchAMovie Liveblog!

Today's episode of The Walking Dead promises to either bring many separate conflicts to a head in neat and interesting ways, or to completely bore us and hold off on further development until we return next year. Eww. Hopefully they chose to move things along.

So, what's today's Mid-Life  Season Crisis going to be, any way?

Will Rick and his small group of roamers break through the walls of Woodbury?
Will Andrea finally wake up and realize that the Governor is a disgusting slimy doucheball?
Will Carl be able to hold down the fort/prison with Rick and Daryl gone?

carl's hp has varied strongly from season one. he's even attained +4 bullet resistance.  i guess that justifies placing him in charge of grown-ass adults?

For the answer to these and many more questions, jump with us, and get a little party going.

The Walking Dead Season 3 Liveblog! Episode 7: When the Dead Come Knocking

Good Sunday Evening, everyone!

Clearly with it being Sunday, you've shuffled your internet self over here to have a few drinks, and crunch some chips, and find out all about Walkers, Biters, Lurkers and Creepers with us.

Today's episode is called "When the Dead Come Knocking", and promises to bring us further befuddlement of our favourite settlements at both Unnamed Prison, and Woodbury, Georgia.

Wouldn't you know it though, I'm not particularly aware of any songs out there in the world called "When the Dead Come Knocking". I do suppose that we could write it. Or maybe even that some obscure metal band has already done so and it's not on Youtube. Either way, everyone loves some Johnny Cash.

Close enough, eh? Honourable mention to Knocking on Heaven's Door from Axl and Co.

So what do the sick fucks writers have in store for us this week?

How much longer will Andrea run around with her head in her ass?
How far will the Governor go in questioning Glenn and Maggie?
Will Little Ass-Kicker get a name? Or some of Michonne's formula?
Will Michonne find sanctuary with Rick's gang?

oscar too has risen to a level of respect. it's true. otherwise, why would they even show us this?

Join us over the jump to get the answer to these, and hopefully many more questions.

The Walking Dead Season 3 Liveblog! Episode 5: Say the Word

hey! you're back, and so are we!
it's sunday again, and so we'll be here liveblogging The Walking Dead.

Today's episode is called "Say the Word", which inspires further musical references.

The Beatles are well aware of the word, and its implications.

What does this week's episode have in store for us?

How will Rick cope with Lori's death?

hint: not well. probably about as well as the writers? who's the lady trope now?

How will the deaths of two members (and a potential third?) affect the group?
How will Carl adapt to having a little sister?
...will they name her?
How will Daryl find formula or baby food out there in walker land?
Daryl is by far the most stylish of Rick's group.

Oh, right. Stuff will also happen involving Woodbury, and Merle, and Carol, and Andrea, and Michonne, and the Governor, and this will all eventually intersect. Spoiled!
Hop, Skip, and Jump along with us to find out all about what happens this week, and how many walkers get beaned.

the walking dead season 3 liveblog! episode 4: killer within.

please forgive me this brief preamble!  or, you know, don't.  all good.
so, your friendly (ha!) ...pretty much a movie! bloggers had the impossibly good fortune to see the following song performed live on october 25:

...the killer in me is the killer in you...

and now, less than two weeks later, our favourite sunday-night zombie apocalypse drinking fest is airing an episode titled "killer within."

(link)

what will happen this week?
will michonne get her sword back?
will the woodbury folks meet the prison folks?
(will the writers stop ignoring the comics?)
will rick and lori kiss and make up?
(see above parenthetical point?)

(she's got a great point, no?)

follow us over the jump to learn all that and more!

movie review: 50/50.

50/50
(link)
funny how the poster implies that joseph gordon-levitt has testicular cancer, when it is almost certainly spinal.  oh well!  i'm sure the temptation to make a nut-joke was simply too great to resist.

but what's this?  a movie?!  hey now!  we do review those every now and again!  weekly, in fact - at least now that game of thrones is out for the season (noooo!), and we've still got until october until we begin/resume liveblogging for our other "sort-of-a-movie," the walking dead.
so anyway. moving on to the movie!

canadian release date: 30-september-2011
writer: will reiser
director: jonathan levine
starring: joseph gordon-levitt, seth rogen, anna kendrick, bryce dallas howard, anjelica huston

fun fact!  it was actually bryce dallas howard who came up with the movie's title.  according to imdb, the crew was skeptical when she suggested it, but later elected to use the title without thinking to inform her. apparently, she was "surprised" when she found out, though there's no indication of when or how such a discovery was made.  i like to think her reaction was something like this:

it's a fact.

i wonder whether or not the above anecdote will set the tone for the rest of the movie.  i suppose well never know until we watch, so come on - jump with us!

movie review: easy a.

easy a.
(link)
canadian release date: 17-september-2010
writers: bert v. royal
director: will gluck
starring: emma stone, patricia clarkson, stanley tucci, aly michalka, amanda bynes

this is the first movie by writer bert v. royal.  not that you care, but -
it's a fact.
emma stone's appeal seems to be pretty-well universal, and i'd say that's a pretty good reason to check out this movie - with us!  after the jump!
